" I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy." Leviticus 11:45
Let's break this simple verse down into 3 parts.

1- "FOR I AM THE LORD WHO BRINGS YOU UP OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT..."
In this part we see God reminding the Israelites "I am the one that saves you!" We can apply this to our lives as a reminder that in the same way God is the one who takes you out of your dark places! Whatever is enslaving you, God says " I am the one who breaks the chains of slavery over your life, I lift you up, I FREE you!"
GOD SAVES ME ^^^
BUT He doesn't stop there...
2- ..."TO BE YOUR GOD..."
God doesn't just help us out of our troubles and then say "ok! have a good life!"
- NO - He saves us and then HE STAYS with us. He walks with us. He says "I freed you and now I want to be your God - let's leave your past behind, let's go on a journey together. I want a relationship with you, I long to spend time with you - I WANT TO BE YOUR GOD!

BUT wait...there's more:
3- "...YOU SHALL THEREFORE BE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY"
He doesn't just want to save you, and spend time with you, He also wants to make us holy so that we may be LIKE HIM. He knows we are not perfect! Because He is the one who took us out of our dark place, He knows exactly who He is dealing with! He knows our struggles, our sins, our insecurities, our fears - yet He declares over your life, YOU SHALL BE HOLY regardless of your past! - There is nothing you have done, said, or thought that God isn't capable of bringing you back from!
To make you holy, means to make you WHOLE. Your past may have chipped away at you, the words of people around you may have broken you, BUT the God who SAVES you is the God who STAYS with you in this process, and that same Holy God is the one who MAKES YOU WHOLE AGAIN.
